Please pray for my sister
My youngest sister, L., has a very painful case of shingles, which started in her eye this past week. Depending on how she’s doing, she may need to be hospitalized on Christmas Eve. Her doctor has also said it is possible that this could permanently affect her vision. If you feel so inclined, please join my family in prayer on her behalf.
Thank you.

Ugh, poor thing! Shingles are so incredibly painful, and of course happen at the worst possible times with holiday stress and all. I hope she manages to get through this without a hospital stay or any eye damage. Christmas miracles do happen!

Consider it done!
Poor thing. Shingles are no laughing matter–painful and often with lasting side effects. It is our prayer that her course of the illness be short and without lasting damage.

Thank you both. I spoke to her again today, and she reports that her eye doctor says the infection in her eye is clearing up and there seems to be no scarring so he thinks the danger of damage to her eyesight is over. She’s still at home, and has reduced her pain meds during the day from narcotics to over the counter stuff. She said she might still need the hard stuff at night to sleep. So it seems to have turned the corner and she’s on the mend. She sounds more cheerful and hopeful today.

Glad to hear that she got to spend Christmas at home, rather than in the hospital, that’s always a good thing. Hope your sister continues to improve over the New Year!
